I’m passionate about religious icons, the craft and tradition and their beauty across the centuries. With traditional methods of tempura on wooden panels, I paint copies of existing icons, reinterpretations, and occasionally I try my hand at a new one altogether. The beauty of icons is their rich traditions, and traditions need to be continued to be kept alive.

Craft and passion
My icons are painted on wood panels, covered in levkas, according to traditional techniques with Tempura, use of gold leaf and lacquered to produce beautifully detailed little works of art. I try to imbue each icon with a bit of originality, a gentler touch to the face and above all I try to imbue the characters with love and prayer, which is why they’re ultimately still speaking to us through the centuries.
